In a Bed Wars or Skywars fight, a long default sword covers part of your target and thick fire on burning players hides their movement. TimeDeo 2K was made for exactly that kind of play. It is a 16×16 PvP pack from TimeDeo, a YouTuber known for Bed Wars, UHC and Skywars videos, released to celebrate his channel reaching 2,000 subscribers. That is what the “2K” means: it has nothing to do with resolution, and the textures are the same 16x size as vanilla.

What changes in game
Descriptions of the pack focus on short swords, low fire and lighter textures for PvP. Our screenshots show the rest of the picture:
- Swords are short and slim, so less of the screen is covered while you aim and block.
- Diamond gear turns a bright aqua with dark outlines, easy to tell apart from iron at a distance.
- Ores sit in frames of their own color, so coal, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, diamond and emerald stand apart from stone at a glance.
- The sky is replaced with a dramatic red and orange cloudscape.
- The inventory and hotbar are redrawn to match the darker, high-contrast style.

“TimeDeo 2K Revamp” is a different thing: remakes of the original by other creators, and different sites credit different people for them. The file here is called Time-Deo2k.zip, and the name alone doesn’t tell you whether it is the original or one of the revamps. Both keep the short swords and aqua style, so for most players the difference is small.
Versions: a 1.8.9 pack at heart
Like most PvP packs of its time, TimeDeo 2K targets 1.8.9, the version many PvP servers and clients still run. We list it for 1.8.x to 1.12.x. On 1.9 to 1.12 the pack list may show a warning that it was made for an older version, because the pack format number doesn’t match; you can still select it and the textures load.
From 1.13 Mojang renamed and split a large number of blocks and items, and older packs lose many of their textures there. If you play a modern version, a pack built for it will serve you better; our resource packs section has current ones, and Faithful is a safe pick if you just want a clean 32x look.

Does it need OptiFine?
Only for the sky. Custom skies in resource packs are an OptiFine feature: the game itself ignores those files, so without OptiFine you get the swords, armor, ores and GUI and keep the vanilla blue sky. With OptiFine installed, check that Video Settings, Quality, Custom Sky is on. OptiFine also covers the other half of the PvP setup, frame rate.

Don’t expect the pack to raise FPS by itself. It uses vanilla’s 16x resolution, so it costs about the same to render. For real gains, combine OptiFine’s settings with our FPS guide, or look through FPS boost textures made for low-end PCs.
Using it under shaders
A PvP pack and a shader pack can run together; the shader lights whatever textures are loaded. Shader packs draw their own sky, though, so the red sky may vanish. BSL Shaders has an Allow Skybox option for resource pack skies. Complementary works on 1.8.9 too, if you want the aqua gear under softer light for recordings.

Adding it to the game
- Download the zip and keep it packed.
- In Minecraft open Options, Resource Packs, then Open resource pack folder.
- Move the zip into that folder and return to the game.
- Click the pack to move it to the selected list. If you run other packs, put TimeDeo 2K at the top so its swords and GUI win.
- Press Done, wait for textures to reload, then open your inventory: short swords mean it worked.
