TerraFirmaCraft is one of the largest and coolest survival mods for Minecraft. It completely changes the gameplay, as it affects almost all mechanics and even the generation of the world. The mod was created in order to make survival really difficult, interesting, and as realistic as possible. From the very beginning of the game, you will have to look for the necessary resources and monitor not only satiety but also many other indicators. In the game, there will also be new mobs, items, plants, and much more.
After installing the Terrafirmacraft mod, you will have to learn to play Minecraft almost again. Instead of the usual biomes, the game will have real climatic zones with different temperatures and rainfall. The game will always begin closer to the north and in early summer. You will have enough time to find the right time for the starting base.
Mining resources will now have to be completely different. From the very beginning, you will not be able to chop wood or break stone blocks, you need to collect branches and cobblestones for the most primitive tools directly from the ground. Of the stones, it will be necessary to craft tips of various shapes to create axes, hammers, and other tools.
In addition to hunger, thirst will appear in the game. These two indicators will constantly decrease even if the player stands still. With active actions, such as battles or resource extraction, they will be consumed much faster. Carrying a huge supply of food with Terrafirmacraft will not work, as cooked food and plucked fruits gradually deteriorate in the inventory.
The combat system in this mod has also been completely redesigned. For example, skeletons are almost impossible to kill with piercing weapons or arrows, but they are perfectly scattered from hammer blows. At the beginning of the game, any battles should be avoided, since even the weakest monsters are almost impossible to cope without good weapons.
During the first games with the Terrafirmacraft mod, it is recommended to use NEI or JEI, since without understanding the basic recipes you will not be able to live for several days. Another interesting feature is the expandable sections for crafting. Initially, a standard 2×2 grid will be available to you, as in a regular game. Having crafted a workbench, you will expand it to 3×3, and at the same time for crafting it is not necessary to go to the workbench. However, after the death of the player, it will be reduced to standard sizes and will require re-expansion.
How to install TerraFirmaCraft mod
- Make sure you have installed Minecraft Forge.
- For version 1.18.2, you need to additionally install Patchouli.
- Download the mod for your version of the game.
- Put it in the ‘mods’ folder, which is located in the game folder.
