OfflineSkins mod allows you to install any skin by nickname even without a license and internet connection. It will be very useful for playing on a local network. After installing this mod, you need to download the desired skin and copy your game nickname into the file name. After that, drop it in the .minecraft/cachedImages/skins folder. There is also a mod for Forge, and it supports older versions of Minecraft.
How to install OfflineSkins mod
