With the Recycle Armor datapack, you can recycle any armor and get some of the original ingredients back. Now you can not wait until it breaks, but simply use a workbench to return from 25 to 75% of the components needed for crafting. You can also recycle horse armor, which will drop three units of leather, iron, gold, or diamonds, depending on the material.
How to install Recycle Armor datapack
- Download the archive with datapack.
- Open the datapacks folder in your save (saves are located at .minecraft/saves).
- Copy the datapack folder there.
- Load your saved game and execute the command /reload.
- Datapack is ready to use (within the chosen save).
