In Minecraft Snapshot 25w16a, Mojang delivers a surprisingly whimsical mix of utility and absurdity. Players can now leash camels into caravans and — in what might be one of the most bizarre yet delightful additions — attach a boat with a chest to a flying Happy Ghast for airborne treasure transport.
One of the biggest changes is the complete overhaul of leash mechanics. Leashes are now thicker (to match Bedrock), can be used to tether two mobs together, and feature improved physics for smoother behavior. Players can also snip leashes using shears, and dispensers can now do the same automatically. The system now supports quad-leashing for large mobs using the Happy Ghast, which also gets a unique visual layer while hauling your cargo.
In the skies, clouds now render to the horizon for an immersive flying experience. Elytra users will notice that fireworks now only trigger a boost while gliding, regardless of block placement.
Mojang has also reverted a recent Nether Portal fix due to unintended side effects, promising to revisit it in the future.
